President
of his 1972 fall pledge class, Jimmy Keen '73 was once
again the leading spirit gathering his 1970s Brothers for a
inspiring weekend of golf and good fellowship. On an April Saturday
featuring the Seminoles' spring Garnet & Gold football game
our alumni enjoyed a soggy day of golf at Golden Eagle, followed
by prime seats in the University Center Club to oversee the
football game.
Perhaps
the most unique Pike reunion idea ever was the brainchild of
Dave Kresge '73 and Gary Prescott '72. After the
Friday Night Happy Hour for alumni at the Cabot Lodge, as many
as twenty Delta Lambda alumni crammed into two stretch limos
for a nostalgia tour of the campus and associated watering holes.
"It was fabulous," said one Brother. "Nothing
we remembered was there anymore and the night wore on we didn't
care. We had each other, again. It was like we had never left
"
After Saturday
night's game, former SMC Chris Koch '01 had reserved
the private Faculty Room in the Club exclusively for Pike alumni.
Koch was the Director of Greek Alumni for Seminole Boosters,
and handled much of the administrative details for the weekend.
These 1970s
initiates were later joined for golf by some younger alumni,
including past SMCs Bryan Schulis '03, Chris Koch
'02, Jon Graber '02 and others.
